I have spent over 25 years working in the financial industry, most recently designing software to help advisors and clients make sound decisions. Yet despite that experience, money became one of my greatest personal struggles. It wasn’t a lack of knowledge, it was deeper than that. Money became the place where I buried unresolved pain from my past, using control, risk, and the pursuit of gain as substitutes for healing. That path eventually led to real consequences and loss, revealing just how fragile those false securities were.
Growing up, money was also modeled to me as something to be trusted and relied upon, often taking a place in my family that only God should hold. Over time, I came to see how easily money becomes an idol, shaping identity, worth, and decisions in ways we don’t always recognize.
Jesus tells us that no one can serve two masters. For me, money quietly became the master I turned to for safety and identity, even while claiming faith as my foundation. This workshop was born out of that tension, and the freedom that comes when faith replaces fear and trust is restored to where it belongs.
"No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money." - Matthew 6:24
The Faith & Finance Workshop is an interactive, group-focused experience for men who want to align their finances with their faith, address stress or unhealthy patterns around money, and engage in honest conversation and reflection. This is not a financial literacy class, there are many programs for that, but a space to explore the heart, habits, and beliefs behind financial decisions, and how faith can guide stewardship in everyday life.
Offered in-person or virtually, the workshop is discussion-based, practical, and adaptable to small or medium-sized groups. Sessions are flexible in length and can be customized to fit the needs of your group or organization.
